This is a personal tale. Finding myself marking titles from Salisbury theatre, in a city where I spent my teeenage years, I realised that I had no idea where this theatre was. The playbills don't record the location. So, a search engine and a BNA search later, I then found out that I would have passed the site many times back then. Now, the site on New Street is occupied by modern buildings, and even the buildings that replaced the theatre are long gone. Directly opposite is a building that used to be the Alexandra Rooms, once a music venue where I saw, in the late 60s, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Chicken Shack, Ten Years After, Lindisfarne and others I can't recall. That's what I like about a project like this. Follow your nose and you can end up in some unexpected places!
