Did you contribute to our Living with Machines project on Zooniverse?
Firstly – thank you for your contribution! We’re thrilled with the response to our projects, and hope you’ve enjoyed them. You have helped us find news stories about industrial accidents, define ‘machines’ across the 1800s by classifying or transcribing descriptions in newspapers, and separate paid advertisements from news stories. We appreciate the efforts that each and every one of you have made, whether that’s one task or many.

Some information to know beforehand:
Your answers will help our team shape future crowdsourcing tasks, and may be used in publications, presentations and reports about our project. We have based our survey on previous citizen science project surveys to allow comparison with other projects, and included questions to allow comparison with other British Library surveys.
We will post the results from this survey to the Zooniverse forum https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/bldigital/living-with-machines/talk and the Living with Machines website https://livingwithmachines.ac.uk/.
We may also deposit an anonymised version in the British Library research repository for reference by other researchers.
This survey has been approved by the British Library’s Audience Insights team.
Most questions are optional. Some questions asked by the British Library may be sensitive but helps us comply with the Public Sector Equality Duty.
